Feeding Greedy Dogs

Show all

Some dogs always seem to be starving. Before doing anything drastic, check your dog’s weight with your vet – if your dog is too thin, he/she may need more food. If your dog’s weight is normal or above, you need to find other ways of satisfying his/her appetite without increasing the food intake.

You’ve just changed food

If you’ve recently changed from a low-grade food to a high-quality diet, your dog may feel hungrier, because their new food doesn’t contain as many fillers, and so the portions are smaller. He/she may take a while to adjust.

Easy ways to help your greedy dog:

  1. Feed more frequent, smaller meals.
  2. Choose a low-calorie food and feed him/her slightly more.
