Our Super Easy Howl-oween Ultra Pet Minis Dog Treats Recipe

If you celebrate Halloween, then you’ll know the fun of preparing trick or treat goodies to give out to the kiddos in your local community. You’ll probably even be tempted to give your dogs a treat or two. But we urge you to resist feeding them candies or chocolate (see our toxicities blog). Rather bake your own treats using the food your cute canine already eats – Ultra Pet! This way you can ensure your dog stays healthy and full of energy to join in on the Spooky Season activities.

To help you and your pup have as much fun as possible, we’ve prepared a simple recipe.

What you’ll need:

  • A blender
  • Ultra Pet Minis Pellets (these are easier to crush up in your blender)
  • Your preferred cookie cutters
  • Hot water
  • X1 Glass cup or coffee cup
  • An oven tray
  • Wax paper
  • Spray & Cook
  • X15 handfuls of minis pellets (equivalent to 3 ½ cups)
  • ¾ glass of hot water

How to Make Your Own Ultra Pet Dog Treats:

  1. Add a few handfuls of pellets into your blender and then pour in a bit of hot water along with this. Blend this and then repeat until all the pellets and water are used up.
  2. You will notice that the mixture will come together and pull away from the sides of the blender. Take out a good few spoonfuls and knead this together to form a small ball.
  3. Once you’ve formed a smooth ball that is dough-like in consistency, leave it aside to cool.
  4. When you come back to it you will notice that the ball is a bit rubbery in texture and slightly crumbly. This is absolutely fine. If any pieces break away from the ball, just add them back and smooth the ball over with your hands, forming as tight a ball as possible.
  5. Then, on a clean surface, lay out some wax paper, gloss side up. Get out a rolling pin and roll the ball out to around 6mm in thickness.
  6. Get out your cookie cutters and be sure to grease them with cook & spray before use. Now have fun stamping and cutting away!
  7. Once done, peel the dog treats away from the wax paper and lay them out on a greased tray.

8. Place the tray in the oven for no longer than 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Once your treats have cooled, they will be firm and crunchy – and absolutely irresistible to your pupper!

How easy it that? Just Ultra Pet pellets and hot water and you’ve got yourself some ultra-awesome dog treats that will include your furry friend in all the Howl-oween festivities.
